Who is running this tournament?
This tournament is organized by Lucky Paper in partnership with Matt Belcher, who has extensive experience coordinating digital drafts with these tools.
I have never used
Draftmancerbefore. What do I need to know?
Draftmancerdoes not require that you have an account and has an intuitive UI for drafting. If you want to make sure you’re comfortable with it you can use it to run practice drafts against bots in any format of your choice. We recommend connecting to the draft via a stable internet connection.
Do I need to own all of the cards on MTGO that I end up drafting in my deck?
No. You will be leant your full pool after the draft and prior to games and will return the cards to the tournament organizer after your last match.
What exactly is the prize?
The winner of the two-draft, single-elimination digital qualifier will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Kingston, New York to play in the 100th draft of 100 Ornithopters, to be held the weekend of April 9th-11th, 2027. Travel, lodging, and food will be provided at no cost to the winner.
This prize is non-transferrable, has no monetary value, and can be revoked at any time at Lucky Paper’s sole discretion.
Can I buy multiple entries so I have multiple shots at making top 8?
Tickets are limited to one per person to make sure the most people get a chance to participate. If tickets are not sold out a couple weeks before the first draft this policy will be reconsidered.
What if I live really far away and it’s really expensive for me to travel to the Champions’ Draft?
That’s a risk we’re willing to take. We really don’t like having to limit who can participate in these kinds of things, but we’re not going to lie: if you’re from Australia or Japan or whatever we are going to be rooting against you.
What if I win the digital qualifier but cannot attend the Champions’ draft?
Your spot will be given the the runner-up, and so on until a player who is able to attend is identified.
What if I win the first draft but cannot participate in the top 8 draft on November 14th?
Your spot will be given the the runner-up from your pod.
